We wandered through the charming Alfama district. After visiting the iconic Belem Tower, we took a fun ride on the famous Tram 28. This impressive country offers a blend of history, culture and stunning architecture. The famous Belem Tower is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We found it worth visiting, and it was indeed so! The amazing view of the Tagus River up from the tower was simply breath-taking. Since we are deeply interested in the monastery architecture, Jeronimos Monastery was a must-see for us. The Intricate Manueline architecture and its beautiful design amazed us tremendously. One of the main reasons we chose Portugal as a destination was to experience genuine Fado performance. We reserved a table at charming local restaurant for a live Fado performance. It was simply fantastic! The soulful Portuguese music was no way similar with other western music. Its melancholy yet powerful melody moved us deeply. And of course, local cuisine impressed us much. We simply enjoyed every dish to the end!
